Record $2 Million Plus Expenditures Approved

"When you build a new (middle) school, it gets expensive," Dr. Baggett stated. Glen Slater of Volbert & Associates, overseeers of the buiding project, said the construction was about three and a half weeks behind schedule or about 24% complete. Slater stated he hopes that will pick up with improved weather. The target for completion is still November or December.

- With all members present, the board approved the following:
- Regular session minutes of March 25, 2008
- Board expenditures for February, 2008 in the amount of $2,043,244.39.
- Field trip request for DECA student to atend National DECA Career Development Conference in Atlanta, GA April 25-30, 2008.
- Adoption of textbooks for the 2008-2009 school year in the subject area of reading/literature.
- Update to accounting procedures and policy file DI to comply with the State Department of Education Regulations. Proposed policy will be sent to personnel components for input.
- Field trip request for FBLA to attend Institute for Leaders and National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, GA June 24-30, 2008.
- HHS 8th grade Boys Basketball team to attend Ole Miss Team Camp in Oxford, MS June 25-27, 2008.
